WELCOME BINDER

1324 Lake Content Dr.

St Germain, WI 54558

Welcome to Whitetail Crossing!

We are happy to share our lake home with you and hope that you enjoy it as much as we do. We’ve been coming up to the St. Germain area since 1987, always searching for a place on Big St Germain Lake large enough for our growing family and friends. In 2023 we completed the first phase of our dream with the construction of Eagles Bluff – a large luxury lake home on the 20, acres to the east of this property. With such a large available shoreline and a desire to provide a lower cost option for guests, we purchased and renovated a property next door and named it Whitetail Crossing. A separate driveway, stairs and dock make this property lake accessible.

We’d like to share with you some information so your stay can be safe, relaxing and enjoyable. You can also find the property rules and checkout instructions here.  Please feel free to reach us by email, text or phone if you have questions or need assistance.

Have a wonderful time. Please be sure to sign our Guest Book and share your thoughts and any suggestions you may have. Be sure to say hello to the eagles and loons for us and we hope that you come back to visit again.

Kindest regards,

Lou & Bonnie Jantzen

FIRST THINGS FIRST

Our driveway runs from Lake Content Drive to the garage, around the firewood shed and continues to the driveway to Eagles Bluff and your driveway to private access to Lake Content. Look for the sign labeled "Loons Landing" to the left of the Eagles Bluff parking. There is parking for 6 cars behind the house and adjacent to the garage on this driveway. There is also space for a couple of trailers, but we require that all vehicles stay on pavement. Do not block access to the dumpster on Mondays.

You should have received your door entry code before your arrival. The garage, lower level and three cabinets are locked and unavailable to guests. Otherwise, you have full access to our home, 1.6-acre lot and access to your private pier on the Lake. See the attached maps of our lot and the lake chain area.

In addition to the wooden steps down our “bluff”, you can also access the lake during the snow mobile season by our gently sloped trail starting off our Eagles Bluff driveway across from the Loons Landing driveway entrance.

During the fishing season, you can dock your boats at our private pier. The area around our dock is quite shallow with a mostly sandy bottom. The 239-acre Lake Content is generally very quiet and peaceful. However, it is a full-recreational lake with a channel connecting it to Big St Germain Lake (1622 acres). Boats as large as a pontoon boat can navigate through the channel during the non-winter months and there is a public launch on the north side of Big St. Germain Lake.

AMENITIES, FIXTURES AND DEVICES

Technology, Wi-Fi and Internet

We have Spectrum high-speed Internet and TV. The network is named Whitetail Crossing and the password is WCW1324!. For live local TV, use the Spectrum Ap. The modem and wireless router are located above a closet ceiling, and other routers can be found in the kitchen and great room, but feel free to call if you have any questions or problems. We monitor and can control the heating and cooling system as well as back door lock from our smartphones. Cell phone service is very good here, but we hope you enjoy “disconnecting” with the voices and visions of nature that reach far beyond our WiFi signal!

The nearest electric vehicle charging station is at Walmart in Minocqua. If you can’t make it to a charging station, please call and we may be able to help.

Kitchen and Dining

We’ve got everything covered for you. The microwave, range and oven are easy to navigate. The refrigerator has an internal water dispenser and ice maker/bin. The GE dishwasher will do a great job on dirty dishes. Please place any dishwasher-safe plastic on the top rack. There is a toaster and coffee maker in the kitchen. Explore the cabinets and kitchen drawers where you will find plenty of utensils, pans, baking items, an electric griddle, slow cooker and more. Owner’s Manuals are in one of the kitchen drawers.

The dining table is butterfly leaf extendable that can seat up to eight. You can find two extra chairs in the rear bedroom. You will also find a dining set on the rear deck that seats six. The gas grill is also on the rear deck. Please cover when not in use.

Outdoor Fire Pit

There are eight Adirondack chairs (with cupholders) around the fire ring to the east of the firewood shed. A cart, kindling splitter and poker are located within feet the fire ring. Do not burn paper or carboard as it tends to fly away while on fire.

Games

Indoor games are available on the shelves adjacent to the fireplace in the Great Room. Please repack and return all games and accessories to their original location prior to departure.

Heating and Cooling System

The thermostat is located on the hall wall and is programmed for comfortable temperatures. The setting can easily be overridden if desired.

Electric fireplace

The "fire" and heater control of the fireplace can be controlled at the lower right corner inside the glass doors, on the hall wall to the left of the fireplace and by the remote control, which is the preferred control method. The wall control, that can be removed by pushing it in, can function as a thermostat but it will shut down the "fire" after 20 minutes. Be sure the fireplace is off when retiring and departing.
