St Germain, WI 54558
Welcome to Eagles Bluff!
We are happy to share our lake home with you and hope that you enjoy it as much as we do. We’ve been coming up to the St. Germain area since 1987, always renting a place to stay each Summer with family and friends. It was always challenging to find a place on the Big St Germain Lake chain large enough for our growing family and friends, so in 2021, decided to make our dream a reality. The result is Eagles Bluff!
We’d like to share with you some information so your stay can be safe, relaxing and enjoyable. Please feel free to reach us by email, text or phone if you have questions or need assistance.
Have a wonderful time. Please be sure to sign our Guest Book and share your thoughts and any suggestions you may have. Be sure to say hello to the eagles and loons for us and we hope that you come back to visit again.
Kindest regards,
Lou & Bonnie Jantzen

FIRST THINGS FIRST
There is parking for 7 cars perpendicular to the long red pine log on the side of the parking area. There is also space for a couple of trailers. Do not park on the driveway to the west of the pine log. Be sure to allow plenty of space for the large garbage truck to access the dumpster area on Monday.
You should have received your door entry code before your arrival. The garage, two rooms on the lower level and a few cabinets are locked and unavailable to guests. If you are renting our 4-bedroom version, the lower level is also locked. Otherwise, you have full access to our home and our 20-acre lot. See the attached maps of our lot and the lake chain area.
In addition to the deck side stair and concrete steps down our “bluff”, you can also access the shore and pier by means of a gently sloped trail starting off our driveway just south of the parking area and electrical transformer.
During the summer months, you can dock your boats at our private pier. Two kayaks and adult life jackets are available for your use down by this pier. The area around our dock is quite shallow with a nice sandy bottom, which is great for the kids to splash and play in! The 239-acre Lake Content is generally very quiet and peaceful. However, it is a full-recreational lake with a channel connecting it to Big St Germain Lake (1622 acres). Boats as large as a pontoon boat can navigate through the channel during the non-winter months and there is a public launch on the north side of Big St. Germain Lake.
PROPERTY RULES
Please respect our property and the following rules or be subject to additional charge.
AMENITIES, FIXTURES AND DEVICES
Technology, Wi-Fi and Internet
We have Spectrum high-speed Internet and TV. The network is named Eagles Bluff and the password is EBW8448!. For live, local TV, use the Spectrum Ap. The wireless router is in the locked housekeeping closet, but feel free to call if you have any questions or problems. We can control the heating and cooling system as well as locks from our smartphones if needed. Our cell service is very good here also, but we hope you enjoy “disconnecting” with the voices and visions of nature that reach far beyond our WiFi signal!
The nearest electric vehicle charging station is at Walmart in Minocqua. If you can’t make it to a charging station, please call and we may be able to help.
Kitchen and Dining
We’ve got everything covered for you. The microwave, range and oven are easy to navigate. Both refrigerators (main and lower level) have water and ice dispensers and ice makers/bins. The Bosch dishwasher will do a great job on dirty dishes. Please place any dishwasher-safe plastic on the top rack. The built-in ice maker below the bar can make up to 40 pounds of clear ice daily. Be sure to return the scoop to the holder on the left side. There is a toaster oven in the kitchen. Explore the cabinets and kitchen drawers where you will find plenty of utensils, pans, baking items, a large electric griddle, slow cooker and more. Owner’s Manuals are in the utility room drawer.
The large grill on the lakeside deck is natural gas, so you never have to worry about running out of fuel. Turn on the ball valve near the bottom of the railing and please remember to turn it off when done. There are grilling tools located in the grill cabinet as well. After the grill has cooled, please cover. If you prefer charcoal, a kettle grill is also provided on the lower-level patio.
The lakeside deck has two tables with a total of 12 chairs. The main table outside the dining room is expandable to seat eight with the center leaf docked under the tabletop. You will also find a bar top with 4 chairs at the point where you can enjoy the fantastic view while you drink your morning brew! There is also a table and four chairs on the lower-level patio.
Outdoor Fire Pit
There are twelve Adirondack chairs (with cupholders) around the fire ring on the front lawn. Firewood, a cart and a kindling splitter are located within feet the fire ring. Please recover the firewood stock and clean up the area prior to checkout. Please close windows while burning to avoid setting off the smoke alarms. Do not burn paper or carboard as it tends to fly away while on fire. Please be sure the porch and wall lights are off before retiring for the night.
Games
Indoor games are available on the table under the TV in the Great Room. Some outdoor games and cornhole bags are located in the entry closet. Cornhole boards can be found under a tarp adjacent to the wood pile during the summer months. Please repack and return all games and accessories to their original location prior to departure.
Heating and Cooling System
The thermostat for the Main and 2nd floors is in the entrance foyer with separate screens for each. Swipe left or right to view the desired zone and rotate your finger on the circle to the desired temperature which will remain until the next cycle.
The thermostat for the Lower Level is located on the wall at the end of the bar. This is for the radiant floor heat and can be adjusted with the up and down buttons. There is no separate cooling thermostat, but you will find this level quite comfortable in the summer from the main thermostat.
Direct Vent Gas fireplace
Locate the remote on or near the mantel for all fireplace operations. The on/off button is on the top. There are three modes - manual, thermostatically controlled and smart. Flame height, fan speed and ember light intensity are all adjustable by selecting the item with the bottom button and adjusting with the up and down arrows on the remote. If you choose the manual mode, remember to turn it off when it gets too warm and when retiring for the night.
Ceiling fans
The switch and remote for each fan/light are located next to each other on the wall adjacent to the room entry. The switch controls all power to the fan/light, and when switched on, will restore the previous fan and light settings. With the switch on, the remote can be used to control the many modes of the light and fan. If you take the remote to the bedside, be sure to return the remote to the correct cradle. Note that the light in the lower-level living room is on two switches, one at each side of the room. That remote controls only the fan.
Towel Warmer in the Master Bath
Press the thermostat symbol to illuminate the clock symbol. Touch the clock symbol to cycle through the hours it remains on (1H through 8H). Do not choose “ON”.
